In this insight, we provide our initial thoughts on The Pinkfong Company IPO which is expected to be completed in KOSPI in 2H 2025. The Pinkfong Company is the creator of the famous Baby Shark brand.

The Pinkfong Company plans to apply for a preliminary review for listing to the Korea Exchange this week. Mirae Asset and Samsung Securities are the lead underwriters of this IPO. The Pinkfong Company's valuation was more than 1 trillion won in 2021 (Series B investment round).

The company's original "Baby Shark Dance" is the most viewed Youtube video ever (15.9 billion views as of May 2025). My two children contributed several hundred views of the Baby Shark Dance videos/audios when they were much younger. Baby Shark became the first Youtube video to be viewed more than 10 billion times and it is continuing to grow into other related contents including movies and animated series.

My 11 year daughter Lana has graduated from the Baby Shark songs but alas she now knows all the names of the members in Black Pink!
