On 29 March, it was reported that Lee Seo-Hyun has been appointed as the President of Samsung C&T (028260 KS), returning to the company after more than five years.
Lee Seo-Hyun is the third child of the late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-Hee. She will be in charge of the overall strategic planning of Samsung C&T.
Many investors will likely to question this move, since they may question her ability to make strategic decisions that are in the best interests of all the minority investors.
On 29 March, it was reported that Lee Seo-Hyun (second daughter of the late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-Hee) has been appointed as the President of Samsung C&T (028260 KS), returning to the company after more than five years.
She will be in charge of the overall strategic planning of this quasi-holding company of Samsung Group. Samsung emphasized that she is expected to contribute to "raising Samsung C&T's brand competitiveness by utilizing her experience and know-how to bring success to Samsung's culture business and social contributions."
Lee Seo-Hyun is the third child of the late Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-Hee. She is a graduate of New York's Parsons School of Design and she acquired management experience at Cheil Industries, which is now merged with Samsung C&T and Cheil Worldwide.
From 2015, she served as the president of Samsung C&T's fashion division until 2018. In the past several years, Lee Seo-Hyun has been involved with the Samsung Welfare Foundation, Samsung Global Research and Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art.
